1. Ask around.
Chances are, whether it's through Facebook or your immediate friend group, you know someone who engages in direct selling. Ask about their experience when considering if this is a business opportunity for you.
2. Know yourself.
Here is an interesting exercise in business and in life:outline five to ten values that are extremely important to you. When you weigh future decisions, you will have them as your guide.
3. Set limits.
When you're good at juggling your responsibilities, people assume you can always handle more. Don't leave them overboard at your expense. If you enjoy it, change it today.
4. Take stock.
Not every side business, hustle or relationship is meant to be. Schedule regular check-ins (monthly or quarterly) with yourself to keep up to date with your prospects.
5. Relax.
We live in a go-go-go society, but everyone needs a break from time to time. Over the weekend, plan a mini-vacation in which you can allow yourself to detach yourself.
6. Reframe things.
If you find yourself in doubt, try an “afformation,” like asking yourself Why am I so good at giving presentations? to change your mental perspective.
7. Amateur Lobby.
Almost everyone has something they like to do just for fun – a hobby. Could yours make you money? Look around to see if anyone with a similar hobby is cashing in.
8. Streamline.
The next time you find yourself frustrated with everything you need to do, spend some time with a pen and notepad to plan ways to be more efficient with your time. Surely there is a way.
9. Smile and share it.
You don't have to track your subjective well-being from hour to hour to become a master of your own happiness. Just plan some activities you enjoy with the people you enjoy being around.
10. Be quiet.
Meditation has proven benefits for health and happiness, but it takes time. If you don't already take care of 15 minutes a day to meditate, pray or reflect, set a reminder on your phone now.
